12 Things I'm Grateful For
I've been struggling for weeks to think of a topic for this post. There are so many things that I could talk about that have been happening this month, but I haven't been in the head space to discuss them in blog form.
So I've decided to that instead of battling to write something deep and introspective, I'm going to share with you some of the things I'm grateful for in my life. It's not an exhaustive list, but I hope you enjoy all the same.
So, in no particular order, I am grateful for...
My partner, Josh - Not to get too soppy, but he has always been so supportive of everything I do and does whatever he can to brighten my day.
My parents - Also incredibly supportive and always there when I need them to offer advice or just a listening ear.
Sunshine - I mean, who isn't grateful for sunny days? Everything looks bright and cheerful, you get a vitamin D boost, my hair doesn't get as frizzy... It's a win all around!
Tree shade - I don't get much of this living in London, but a hot summer's day in the shade of a tree is beautiful to me. Make the tree a whole woodland and I'm in heaven.
My ukulele, Layla - Yes, my ukulele has a name, and yes, she is probably my most prized possession. And yes, she's a she.
The feeling of grass on bare feet - I can't actually put into worlds how much I like walking bare foot on grass. It's just the best.
The water birds by my house - There's A LOT of water fowl near where I live. And even though they are very noisy at times, it's lovely to be so close to wildlife in the heart of a concrete jungle. Also, their babies in spring are SO CUTE!
My cousins - Even though I can never keep up with the group chat, it's nice to know they're there, y'know?
Being able to express myself - In the past I've either taken this for granted or dismissed this gift entirely, but more and more I'm starting to appreciate that I can express myself quite eloquently both in speech and in writing.
My Bullet Journal - I cannot imagine my life without my bullet journal anymore. It is the most useful organisational tool I've ever had.
My Rubik's Cube - a recent addition to my life (I bought it less than two weeks ago at the time I'm writing this), it's made the list not only because it's been fun to learn how to solve it, but also because it been nice to have something low effort to distract me that doesn't involve looking at a screen. My eyes are definitely thanking me!
The sea - The sound if it, the vastness of it, the patterns of the waves... everything about the sea is beautiful and I can't wait to be by it again.
So that's 12 of the many things I'm grateful for. What about you? What are you grateful for today, this week, this year or in your life?
